Frequently Asked Questions

  • During the first session we begin getting to know each other. I will ask questions and guide our session to find out how I can best support you. I want you to feel comfortable and to know there is no rush or right way to get to know each other.. You can share as much as you want to with me. You are welcome to bring photos that are meaningful to you or art you’ve made. You can share in the way that works best for you. You can also ask me some questions if that’s helpful for you.

  • We meet once a week for 55 minutes. Weekly therapy provides the consistency needed for meaningful change. Meeting weekly means I get to know you deeply with enough consistency to keep building trust and momentum towards healing. That said, session frequency is discussed together. I offer longer appointments or intensives as possible.

  • I do not take insurance. And while I do not interact with insurance companies in any way including billing, calling, or submitting claims I can provide you with a monthly Superbill-a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance. Submitting a Superbill can often allow families to get significant portions of the fee reimbursed. I recommend calling your insurance provider to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits. Mental health therapy may qualify as a tax deductible medical expense. I encourage you to speak with a qualified tax professional to determine if this applies to your specific situation. A limited number of sliding scale spots are available when possible.

  • Individual Session fees are $225 for a 55 minute session. For children this includes time during the session for parents to join for collaboration. For teenage clients, the session fee includes periodic check-ins with parents or caregivers as clinically appropriate. I believe the best outcomes happen when your support team is aligned. I am happy to collaborate with other professionals including doctors and school staff. Consultation and collaboration are available for an additional fee, and I will always discuss this with you in advance.

  • Your appointment time is reserved just for you. If you need to cancel, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance at no charge. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged the full session rate. I kindly ask for 48 hours notice when possible, as it allows me to offer your time to another client in need. I truly appreciate you respecting our time together — it helps me serve all my clients well. Please don’t hesitate to reach out. I would rather reschedule if possible than have you miss a session.
