Services For Children and Teens

I specialize in therapy for children and teens, supporting them in understanding and navigating their emotional world. Together we explore what they feel on the inside and how those feelings contribute to feelings about themselves, with their peers, at school, at home, and in everyday life.

I really love working with children and teens. My therapeutic style is deeply relational. I believe healing happens not through technique alone, but through genuine connection.

When a child or teen knows they can walk through my door and be completely, unapologetically themselves- that is when the real work begins, and that is when lasting change becomes possible.

With children I utilize play therapy because play is a child's most natural language. Through play, children express what words alone cannot capture. Through play children explore and process their emotions, experiences, and inner world in a way that comes most naturally to them. Alongside play therapy I draw from art, games, role play, storytelling, helping name their emotions, build new skills, and calm their nervous system when their world feels like too much.

To a teen reading this, this space is for you. No lectures. No judgment. No one telling you how to feel or who to be. Just a safe, confidential conversation with someone who genuinely wants to understand your world. We work on the things that matter most to you using talk, art and creative expression, music, technology (at times), mindfulness and nervous system tools and other strategies that will help you feel more like yourself.

With Teens

The world our children and teens are growing up in is more overwhelming, more complicated and more demanding than ever. They are being exposed to experiences and pressures that their developing minds and hearts can’t process. Recognizing that your child needs support is not a sign that something has gone wrong. It is a sign that you are paying attention. Therapy offers your child a safe, nurturing space to feel genuinely heard and understood and better able to navigate both their inner emotional world and the world around them.

As a parent you are an essential part of your child’s therapy. With younger children I involve parents actively and collaboratively, honoring how deeply you know and love your child.

With teenagers I carefully honor the confidential space they need to feel safe and to maintain trust. Parent involvement is thoughtfully and collaboratively determined with me, you and your teen. This may include check-in’s or thoughtful invitations into sessions when the time feels right. Your teenager's trust and your peace of mind both matter deeply to me.
